A MESSAGE TO OUR WNY COMMUNITY:
As we navigate through this challenging and difficult health crisis, we hope you and your families are staying safe and well. With the Coronavirus crisis affecting every aspect of our lives, our thoughts are with all those affected by COVID-19, especially those in our disability community.
While we think about how we can support you and your loved ones in the future, Home of My Own of WNY continues to work behind the scenes to accomplish our mission. Although working through just about anything is more difficult these days, we are forging ahead as best we can utilizing technology and keeping a safe social distance.
The current housing crisis our loved ones face is only compounded by a major pandemic. Our priority is to continue to move forward with plans to create apartment communities tailored to independent individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who desire to live in a safe, social and integrated community with lifelong sustainability. If anything, this unprecedented health challenge underscores the gaps in local housing systems and concerns that are relevant to our vulnerable population with special needs here in WNY.
Safety is our highest priority, but as soon as we are past this crisis, we will be back in the community working on our mission with gusto. Our appreciation goes out to the essential workers and healthcare professionals who are on the front lines during this difficult time.
Continue to stay safe and well during this crisis.
Sincerely,
The Executive Leadership Team
Home of My Own of WNY, Inc.
